"2020-yilda xalqimiz tarixining murakkab damlarida, ma'rifat mash'alasini baland ko'tarib chiqqan ulug' alloma va jamoat arbobi Mahmudxo'ja Behbudiyning 145 yillik tavallud sanasi keng nishonlandi.Buyuk ma'rifatparvar, yangi maktab g'oyasini nazariyotchisi va amaliyotchisi, o'zbek dramaturgiyasining asoschisi, noshir, jurnalist, XX- asrning boshlaridagi Turkiston ijtimoiy-siyosiy harakatining yirik namoyandasi va jadidchilik harakatining rahnamosi - Mahmudxo'ja Behbudiy 1874-yil 30-yanvar payshanba kuni Samarqand shahrining Yomini mahallasida tavallud topgan. Mahmudxo'ja Ahmad Yassaviy sulolasidan bo'lib, otasi Behbudxo'ja(asl ismi Sultonxo’ja), bobosi Solixo'ja va katta bobosi Niyozxo'ja Samarqandning nufuzli oilalarining namoyandalari bo'lganlar, qorilik va imomlik bilan tirikchilik qilganlar
